Overindulging? - 5 Tips For Getting Back On Track

Almost everyone overindulges at one point or another. Vacations and parties are part of life. There will always be social occasions where we find ourselves falling off the wagon, eating too many chips and drinking a little more than usual.   A Sweat365 member recently commented, after returning from France, “I’ve gained 3.5 lbs, but it was worth every croissant!” Enjoying food and wine is part of experiencing life.  More…

Day Off?

Last night I woke to thunder and lightening. My sleep was a disturbed with strange dreams that I can no longer remember. I drove through the drizzling rain to work and trained my morning clients. I drove through thick fog on the way home.

The weather is supposed to be partly sunny tomorrow and around 70 degrees. I need to get out there and do one more swim/bike/run before my triathlon. Now, I am debating whether or not to go to the gym to get in a work out before the kids get home from school.

My parents are coming to town on Friday, so I am torn betwen getting laundry done and getting in a work out. I usually choose work out, so there is usually a shortage of socks and towels around our house.

I think I’ll do some cleaning. Maybe I’ll feel motivated to work out later…

Spin Bike At Home

I got up at 5:30 am and had appointments and errands to run.  I wasn’t done until about 3:30pm.  I decided to ride my spin bike and watch a movie called “The Saint” with Val Kilmer and Elizabeth Shue.

I had a house full of teenage girls and I was trying to decompress.  They were making brownies and jumping on the trampolene.  They kept walking by asking questions about my work out.  I trained 2 of the girls along with my daughter, Natasha, for a 5K a couple of years ago.  I explained I was training for a triathlon and needed to work on my cycling.

I ended up riding for a little over an hour, when my son Chris, came home.  He complained about all the girls making a mess in the kitchen.  It’s his job to do dishes this Summer and he wasn’t happy with the brownie mess.

Time to get off the bike and be a mom again.  It’s a busy life!  Lots of things to do and problems to solve!

Fitness Balls At The Office

Phil mentioned that we should get fitness balls to use as office chairs. They work your core. It fits in with our Sweat365 motto of having fun at work. I don’t think I can handle “multitasking” the way Jeff does. Bouncing on the ball could be fun though.

Crazy Week!

Life is getting crazy again. It’s the last week of school and it’s seems that there are so many activities we are trying to cram into our schedule. My daughter had 2 volleyball games, a concert and a tournament this week. My son has finals. We had guests visiting from out of town on Thursday, tickets to Westside Story on Friday night, (Great Show) a volleyball tournament on Saturday, and now we have a concert at The Winery this afternoon.  The band is Toto, remember them from the 80′S?  Chateaux Ste. Michelle offers a member appreciation concert every Summer.  This is the band that is playing this year.

The concert is looking like it might be rained out. This could be a good thing because I have a lot of work to do. I’ve got some research to do and some writing. Then tomorrow is a full day with 7 personal training sessions beginning at 6 am.

I managed to do Hot Power Yoga yesterday, but I’m not sure I’ll get in a work out today. Life is crazy!
