Spin Bike

I planned on going to lunch with my sister, so I rode for 32 minutes.  I hopped in the shower and she called to cancel with me.  Too much going on.  No big deal.  Our parents are coming to town and we are putting together a celebaration party for their 50th anniversary.  Debra just got back from France and so I understand, lots of e-mails and work.  It will be good to see everyone this weekend.  We are trying to coordinate the party and playing host to relatives.  It will all work out.

Walk In Bellevue

What a beautiful day.  I had a cancellation with a client and took the opportunity to go for a walk.  You have to enjoy the nice days here in Seattle because you just can’t count on them.

I’m A Skirt/Skort Convert!

skort.jpgSkirts or skorts, whatever you want to call them look sleek, cool and comfortable. However, I haven’t liked the offerings I’ve seen so far. I checked out the marathon expo in Vegas and Boston recently and wasn’t sold. I liked the idea of a skort, but they didn’t fit quite right. They were either too tight or too lose. I was in between sizes and couldn’t find one that worked for me.

Recently, I ventured into Lucy and tried on a skirt. Their “Line It Up” skirts have a coolmax lining, with a low rise and lose comfortable feel with built-in shorts. I feel like a girl and an athlete at the same time. What can I say? I have always considered myself a athlete, not a girly-girl. Yet I find these versatile skirts can go from tennis, running, golf, to just hanging out getting coffee.

I took my daughter to volleyball practice, took my son to work, went for a walk and to the grocery store. The skirt is a nicer than shorts. I feel a little more feminine and put together. Thumbs up Lucy, nice product!

Treadmill Walk + Greenlake

I got up early today and got in a walk on the treadmill. I’m avoiding the impact of running for a little longer. Although I have to say that I am feeling a lot stronger this week. I put the incline to 14% and walked at 3.5, which was not always easy.

In the afternoon I had to take the kids to the dentist at Green Lake. I packed up Murphy and took him for a half hour walk while they were getting their teeth cleaned. Sometimes, you gotta multi-task to get everything in. Life is busy!

Time Off

lucy-shirt.jpg

I am supposed to be relaxing, but I keep waking up at 5 am. What good is a vacation from work if I’m still getting up? My daughter is happy because I’m making her a hot breakfast every day. Murphy and I will take a walk again today. He has his 7th lesson with Stacey at the grocery store. This time another dog will be there for extra distraction. Good luck Murphy!

Time Off To Recover

I’m taking the week off work and off training. I plan on taking walks with Murphy and that’s about it. This is hard for me because I am one of those people who can’t sit still. My closets will be more organized I suppose. This is a good thing because I am having house guests in a couple of weeks.

Walk With Murphy

What a gorgeous day.  Murphy had some extra energy, so I took him for a nice walk.  He is getting better and better at sit, stay and down.  Last week we had a lesson with Stacy at the grocery store and Murphy did really well.  We need to get him out a couple of times this week to enforce what he learned.  Stacy taught us a trick to make him heel better.  It’s called a pivot turn.  You simply pivot and cross the dog’s path while bringing your knee up.  Your knee pushes him back in between the side of the neck and collar.  This does not hurt your dog.  It just makes him back up instead of pulling ahead.

Walk With Murphy

Murphy is now almost 6 months old. Stacy, our dog trainer is coming over today and we are going on a field trip to the grocery store. I thought that I should take Murphy for a walk to get rid of some energy before Stacy gets here.

Walk With Murphy & Natasha + Pilates

Natasha and I walked Murphy with his new sprenger collar.  He is still pulling a bit.  He got neutered this week, but doesn’t seem to know it yet.  We did pilates after our walk.  My foot is starting to look better.  I’ve been using triple strength neosporin.   Yea!
