Coming Back From Slacking

I was in Palm Springs last weekend for Inner Idea, a yoga/pilates conference. It was between 103 and 108 degrees. I stayed at a Resort outside Palms Springs called La Quinta Resort. It was great to get away and try some different classes. I’ve been tired since I got back though. I’ve had a hard time getting out of bed. I’m doing a triathlon relay on Sunday, so I had to put in a little work today. I bought some new running shoes, so I should be good to go on Sunday.

I haven’t ran a 10K since 1995. For some reason I always run 5K’s, 8K’s, half marathons and marathons. I wasn’t sure how to pace myself. With a 5K I just run all out. The 8k, I hold back a little and the half marathon, I really have to pace myself. I pace myself for the marathon and try to survive the last 10K. Going into this, I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t put in enough mileage and I didn’t know how it would go. Now, that I see the results I should’ve trained harder. It might be fun to run more 5K’s and 10K’s and try to get faster. Fun event! Lots of women and girls sweating and doing their thing. I highly recommend this race!
