Squeezing In A Run
I wasn’t able to do the swim/bike/run work out that I hoped to do today. I had some important meetings that conflicted with a long work out. I had a client cancel, so I seized the opportunity to get in a run.
It’s feeling like fall here in the NW, cool cloudy mornings with sunny afternoons. I ran from the studio out to The Bellevue Botanical Gardens. There were a few people milling about, admiring the gardens. One of my clients manages the volunteers who take care of the gardens. She has written a book about perennials in the NW. It’s called Perenials: The Gardener’s Reference The garden has a Japanese theme and is filled with dahlias, fuscias, ponds with lilypads and winding graveled paths. I’ve heard that one of the best times to visit the garden is during Christmas because its illuminated with lights.
It felt good to get in a run despite my busy schedule. I’m planning on doing the swim/bike/run tomorrow before my parents arrive. I was nice to incorporate a bit of nature into my work out today.

Over the next 9 years I ran 6 more marathons. I love running so much that I became a
