Recovery Run

I took a couple of days off running after my 18 mile run on Sunday.  The first 2 miles were really hard.  I picked up the pace a little bit for the last 3 miles, but I wasn’t feeling speedy.  I am glad I took the time off.  I am sure my next run will be easier.  This is a recovery week because I have a 15 mile race next weekend.

Workout:

  • Type: Run
  • Date: 02/14/2008
  • Time: 09:00:00
  • Total Time: 00:42:50.00
  • Average Heart rate: 158
  • Max Heart rate: 166
  • Calories: 400
  • Distance: 5 miles
  • Average Pace: 8:34.29/mile

Hi! Got your post. We’re the same age, only I’ve been running off & on since high school. Unlike you, though, I’ve never competed in any race whatsoever!! I don’t have a competitive bone in my body… But, I’ve always wanted to complete a full marathon & for some reason I’m now ready. My obstacle is finding a simple recipe for training. My job limits my training days to four days a week. Can you direct or assist me in this search for simplicity? Also, do you know anything about this “Chi Running” I’ve been hearing about?
