Bellevue-Kirkland Run

It took a lot of mental toughness to get out there today. I had lunch scheduled with my friend, Susan, so I was forced to get in some kind of workout because I had time to kill. Otherwise, I’d be dinking around on the computer or shopping! Sunday is my long run and I’ve been slacking this week. All I want to do is sleep. I got in 9 hours yesterday. Therefore, I had no reason not to get my butt out there.

It was very windy, but I managed to get through a longish run. I even included the nasty “Bellevue Way hill”. I felt like I was crawling up it. Luckily at the top I turned left on NE 12th to enjoy some down hill back to the studio.

My friend wasn’t feeling well and cancelled our lunch. I got on the treadmill and turned my 8.5 mile run into a 9 mile run. Then I called Phil and convinced him that he needed to take me to lunch. It didn’t take a lot of arm-twisting to sell him on the idea. We went to this new cute Thai place in our neighborhood. Good food and nice people!

Wow…it’s good to know I’m not the only one who goes through periods of having to mentally kick myself in the butt to go out there. :) Thank you for that!! How excited are you to run Boston?? I’m hoping to volunteer and reap the inspiration by being there…

I am so excited to go to Boston. After 12 years of trying to qualify, I wouldn’t be out there running if I didn’t have some incentive. That’s so cool that you are volunteering. Are you going to watch the Olympic trials the day before?
