800 Meter Repeats
The track was mushy after this morning’s snow and rain. I went to the gym and did my repeats on the treadmill instead. I felt a little sore after Sunday’s run and yesterday’s lifting session. Now that I’ve been more consistent with lifting, my muscles and joints feel better.
Here is the workout:
1.5 mile warm up
.5 miles (800 m) @ 8.5
.25 recovery (walk and jog)
Repeat 4 times
Cool down .75 miles

Although I got a late start, I’ve been a serious runner since 1994. I ran my first marathon in 1995 on my 30th Birthday. It’s been my goal to run the Boston Marathon since then. I missed qualifying by 12 minutes that year. I needed to run 3:40 and ran 3:52. Running in the most prestigious marathon, is the ultimate for most runners. The fact that you have to qualify, only fueled my competitive juices.

That looks like a fun event. I don’t think I’ll be up for it after my long run on Friday.

I think your Boston clock is off by two days…I checked mine and it says 102 days and checked the date (April 21st) and that is correct. You have an extra 2 days to train for it. I just figured I would let you know.
Geez, I’ll have to look at it and fix it. I’l take an extra couple of days to train.
