Lake Union + Green Lake
The clouds were looking ominous today as we started out towards Green Lake. The wet gloppy rain/ snow mix was coming down. I wore my underarmor and my new running jacket just to make sure I was warm enough. I braced myself for a tough run.
By the time we got to Green Lake the snow had stopped. It turned out to be a nice day for running. Michelle, Mitch and Shelley and I set out, ran down Stone Way, which is .9 miles towards Lake Union. The downhill felt good. We ran around Lake Union, which is about 7 miles and headed back up Stone Way. Not so much fun! We got back to our cars shed some clothing, and finished up with a run around Green Lake. It turned out to be a great run. Thanks everyone! I wouldn’t have done it without you.

Although I got a late start, I’ve been a serious runner since 1994. I ran my first marathon in 1995 on my 30th Birthday. It’s been my goal to run the Boston Marathon since then. I’m ready for it to get under 100 days to go. I know it will be here before we know it. Especially when I break it down to the number of weeks to go or number of long runs it really seems close. Good luck as you start you serious training for Boston. Is this you first BIG marathon?
I’ve done Rock n’ Roll Arizona with about 30,000 people, but I’m sure it’s nothing compared to Boston. I’m preparing myself for being coralled and waiting a lot before the start.
Good job getting out there and with a good pace to boot!
Growing up in Philly I had to deal with freezing temps, but but training in the wet and dreary winter in Seattle requires true determination (or insanity)!
glad to be training with you lisa! Today was putting money in the Boston Bank for you and the WS100 bank for me!
