Las Vegas Half Marathon!
The Las Vegas Half Marathon was my comeback race. Last year I developed plantar fasciitis that persisted for almost a year. It started back in August of 2006. I should have taken time off running, but I was too stubborn. I planned to run one more half marathon. Running that last half marathon put me over the edge.
I got new orthodics. I cut back on running, tried massage and yoga. I even got a cortisone shot. I went to physical therapy and took 2 months off running. Finally my plantar fasciitis subsided.
The timing of the Las Vegas Half Marathon was perfect. I began training and coaching the group in September. I got back into running shape along with everyone else in the group. I’m glad to be back.
Now I am ready to take my training up to marathon level. My next race is the Boston Marathon!

Although I got a late start, I’ve been a serious runner since 1994. I ran my first marathon in 1995 on my 30th Birthday. It’s been my goal to run the Boston Marathon since then. I missed qualifying by 12 minutes that year. I needed to run 3:40 and ran 3:52. Running in the most prestigious marathon, is the ultimate for most runners. The fact that you have to qualify, only fueled my competitive juices.
