Interval Run On Treadmill
I avoided the wind and the rain today and ran on the treadmill. I decided to do an interval run on the treadmill. I ran 1.5 mile warm up before my intervals.

1 min @ 8.0, 2 min recovery, 2 min @ 8.3, 2 min recovery
1 min @ 8.3, 2 min recovery, 2 min @ 8.5, 2 min recovery
1 min @ 8.3, 2 min recovery, 2 min@ 8.6, 2 min recovery
1 min @ 8.3, 2 min recovery, 2 min @ 8.6, 2 min recovery
1 min @ 8.3, 2 min recovery, 2 mn @ 8.6, 2 min recovery
2 mile cool down run. It felt good to push the pace one more time before The Las Vegas 1/2 Marathon. This weekend will be the last long run.

Although I got a late start, I’ve been a serious runner since 1994. I ran my first marathon in 1995 on my 30th Birthday. It’s been my goal to run the Boston Marathon since then. I missed qualifying by 12 minutes that year. I needed to run 3:40 and ran 3:52. Running in the most prestigious marathon, is the ultimate for most runners. The fact that you have to qualify, only fueled my competitive juices.
Over the next 9 years I ran 6 more marathons. I love running so much that I became a

I somehow managed to avoid the downpour again. I was at my client’s house and saw the torrential rain earlier in the day, then it returned just as I was leaving their house (on Mercer Island) at 3:30. However, it had cleared up by the time I got home. I did get a bit of drizzle (and of course had to jump over a ton of puddles on the outside loop of Greenlake), but it was actually quite an enjoyable 3 1/2 mile run!
I have been doing interval runs on the treadmill and will continue to do so this winter. Although the treadmill is not the perfect way to do these runs, they do a nice job of breaking up the monotony!
