I Took A Chunk Out Of My Foot!
My parents are in town visiting for a few days. Yesterday we had a full day. We took them to lunch at the Brown Bag. That was an experience. Way too much food. We should’ve split everything. Luckily my mom has a Boston Terrier, named Hannah. Hannah was glad to have the left overs.
We drove out to Snoqualmie Falls and took a hike, burning off some of our enormous lunch. There were a ton of tourists there. There are signs everywhere saying “No Dogs”. My mom waited with Hannah at the top while my dad, Chris, Natasha, Phil and I hiked down to the falls. What a gorgeous day. The falls are spectacular. 
We came home late last night after a dinner at my sisters and pulled into the driveway. I was saying good night to my dad and went to give him a hug. It was dark and I was wearing chunky flip flop shoes. I tripped on a rock that was next to the curb and my flip flop twisted to the side. Somehow I managed to rip a callous off my left foot. There was blood all over my flip flop and it hurt like mad! I went into the house and applied neosporin and a bandaid. I iced and elevated. I hope it heals by next weekend’s triathlon. I guess it’s time to start my taper?


Although I got a late start, I’ve been a serious runner since 1994. I ran my first marathon in 1995 on my 30th Birthday. It’s been my goal to run the Boston Marathon since then. I missed qualifying by 12 minutes that year. I needed to run 3:40 and ran 3:52. Running in the most prestigious marathon, is the ultimate for most runners. The fact that you have to qualify, only fueled my competitive juices.
