Happy Feet!

My feet are happy! Cortisone is something that should not be abused, but there are times when it’s just what you need to get the healing process started!

Wednesday I went to my podiatrist to get a cortisone shot in my left heel. I must be getting tougher because the shot didn’t hurt that much….or maybe I’m getting so used to chronic pain that a little more is no big deal.

I have been concerned that I would never recover from this bout of plantar fasciitis. I have battled it before and won, but it has never persisted this long. My dream is alive now. My goal of running the Boston Marathon is a possibility.

I have plenty of time to train now and progress slowly. Boston isn’t until April of 2008. I have a good 9-10 months to train. I have been working hard on the bike, so that I don’t lose my aerobic fitness. My doctor says I can begin running in 2 weeks.

I have a smile on my face! Life is good!

Just a couple more weeks and you can take your new happy feet out for a test run.

Lisa, I am glad that the cortisone is working for you! The shots suck though :)
