Out For A Ride
I stopped by Gregg’s Cycle to pick up a speedometer for my bike. My old one doesn’t work, and rather than send the whole thing back to Polar, I bought a new one. Polar must make a lot of money off people like me who can’t be without their heart rate monitors!
I felt rather pleased with myself because I was able to install the monitor by myself, until I couldn’t get it to work. I am going to have to read the directions, I guess. Or wait until Uncle Mark comes over again. We rely on him to fix anything mechanical.
I wanted to get in a few hills before my ride on Saturday. I rode down to the Burke-Gilman Trail and turned off to ride up Simonds Road, which is around 385 -400 feet elevation gain, then I turned right onto 84th and another right onto 141st to make it back to Juanita Drive. I veered right on Holmes Point Road, which is another long ardous hill, must be about 400 feet. I barely made it up Holmes Point, but I didn’t use my “granny” gear.
